Six ingredients, each one chosen because birds actually eat it. Black oil sunflower for cardinals, chickadees, and just about everything else. White millet for ground feeders like juncos and doves. Safflower for cardinals and finches -- squirrels leave it alone. Striped sunflower and peanuts for jays, woodpeckers, and nuthatches. Sunflower chips for goldfinches and smaller birds that struggle with whole shells.
No milo. No red millet. No filler that ends up on the ground. Mixed fresh at our mill in Greencastle, Indiana. This is the no-corn blend -- a good choice if squirrels are a problem, since squirrels go after corn first.
Put it in a hopper, tube feeder, or platform tray. Works year-round for Indiana backyards and feeders across the Midwest. Refill when empty -- birds learn which feeders stay stocked and come back to them.
